WELCOME! Everyone has specific talents! Whatever it is...Those talents are not an instant gift from God, but from empowering and exploring them through doing practices and constantly exercises. Looking at the wonder of talents that I could see from my fellow sisters, it has inspired me to open this sharing space. You are most welcome to share or to contribute your creativity in this space. WHO AND WHAT?
Sr. Cecile Schröder lives in Huizen - The Netherlands. She has joined the Congregation of Sisters of Our Lady Amersfoort. In 1959 she dedicated and committed her life for serving God and people by pronouncing her first vows in the congregation. She is a Sister with a great talent in painting and music. For Sr. Cecile, making a painting is her precious time for exploring God's graces in her life. Together with Sr. Tiny, she has the same interest on painting. Other talent of Sr. Cecile is playing traditional music. Together with Sr. Sophie Spit from Motherhouse community, she several time held music performance, for example to celebrate special feast or other special occasions in a nursing care house or our communities to cheer up others.

Een van mijn hobbies is
iconen tekenen
Toen ik nog in Malawi was dacht ik, als ik in Nederland blijf ga ik iconen schilderen en in 2007 probeerde ik mijn eerste icoon te tekenen. Zo ben ik dus ieder jaar, eerst in Mennorode in Elspeet, en later in Denenkamp op cursus geweest.
Ik vind het erg mooi om iets van de bijbel in beeld uit te tekenen. Ik heb nu ongeveer 14 iconen gemaakt en begin het echt al een beetje te leren.
Iedere nieuwe icoon heeft zijn eigen verhaal en ik leef me dan ook helemaal in in het verhaal.

De
laatste icoon is het beeld van Simeon de Godsdrager. Op het moment dat hij het
Godskind in zijn armen draagt zegt hij: “Nu laat gij Heer uw dienaar gaan, in
vrede naar uw woord”. Hoe mooi is deze afbeelding!
Soms
voel ik mij Simeon en probeer ik Godsdrager te zijn en de andere keer ben ik
als een kind en voel mij gedragen in Zijn armen. Terwijl ik de icoon teken
dringt de boodschap steeds dieper tot mij door. Moge ik zo een Godsdrager
